MTBs and ATBs share 90% of the features and the line between all-terrain bikes and mountain bikes has pretty much disappeared in recent years due to advancements in technology. Since there is such a minor difference between the two, what is more important is that both of them can be taken out on rough mountain trails and put through rugged use and abuse! So, in case you are looking for the hottest all-terrain bike, here is quick list that you can consider seriously:
Yeti SB-66
This is an aggressive and stylish trail bike. It comes with a Switch Suspension Technology that makes use of a lower eccentric pivot for managing chain forces. With the compress of dual-link suspension, the eccentric assumes a counter clockwise rotation at the initial stage and then the direction of rotation changes allowing efficient pedalling and smooth suspension.
Pivot Mach 5.7 Carbon
As the name suggests, this bike comes with a carbon frame. This takes out some weight from the bike compared to the previous aluminium frame model that the company marketed. In this bike, the standard QR is replaced by 12×142 thru-axle.
Santa Cruz Blur TRc
This is also a carbon bike so you can bet that it is light as a feather. These cycling bikes on finance from All Terrain allow the rider to enjoy XC racer’s snappy pedalling while still maintaining trail bike’s swagger. The compound weight of the shocks and the frame is 4.9 pounds. It features 127mm travel and is capable of absorbing blows on the trail.
S-Works Stumpjumper 29er
This one is a 29” version that features 130mm rear-wheel travel and features carbon fibre frame, unique geometry and custom suspension tuning. The frame and the shocks together weigh 4.2 pounds, or 1895 grams.
Trek Fuel EX
This bike comes with a slackened geometry and features a head angle of 68 degrees. TH frame tubes are designed to ensure confident and comfortable ride. The rear shocks used are Fox RP3. This boy along with its siblings is pretty expensive!
Niner Jet 9 RDO
Niner Jet 9 RDO (RDO stands for Race Day Only) is not just about a carbon version of the Jet 9 that is popular in market. The bike features a frame that routes the cables internally. The other features include a front derailleur with direct mount, rear disc tabs (post-mount) and bottom bracket shell. The frame of this carbon fibre bike weighs 1.5 lbs. less compared to its aluminium frame successor.
Kona Entourage
This 170mm travel bike is plush and yet nimble because of its 16.3mm chainstays. To deal with heavy abuse the bike features pivot bearings that are oversized. This also enhances the lateral rigidity of the bike. There are two models available for this model of cycling bikes on finance from All Terrain. One is the standard Entourage and the other is the Entourage Deluxe.
Trek Session 9.9
This one is ridiculously lightweight and weighs just less than 35 pounds. The frame is made of carbon fibre. The rear wheel travel is increased to 210mm a new ratio for suspension leverage. One significant addition is the Hybrid Air Technology that allows air addition or air release and thereby allowing the rider to fine-tune the spring rate based on the terrain.
